WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Saturday, the West Chester University Men's Track & Field team resumed competition at the Bucknell Bison Opener, the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival and Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener.
Bison Opener
Chase Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) put together an impressive all-around performance in the heptathlon, finishing inside the top 12 in every event inside Gerhard Fieldhouse. Hildebrand placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.14 seconds, and added three fourth-place finishes in the shot put, 60m hurdles, and pole vault. He wrapped up the competition with a strong overall score of 3,796.
Andre Jackson-Littlejohn (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) led the way for West Chester in the 60m dash, qualifying for finals with a time of 6.92 seconds, placing him fifth overall. He also finished fifth in the 60m finals with a time of 6.96.
AC Ross (Springfield, Va./West Springfield),
Damian Simpson (Easton, Pa./Wilson), and
Nick Tran (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) also performed well, all finishing inside the top 12 with times of 6.98, 7.03 and 7.07 seconds, respectively.
David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) tied for sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.77 seconds. Simpson finished ninth overall with a time of 22.92 seconds. Burnshaw placed second in the 400m with a time of 50.50 seconds.
Terry Dweh (Darby, Pa./Penn Wood) also competed in the event, helping West Chester place multiple athletes in the top five.
Jhaven Sims (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) placed second in the 500m with a time of 1:10.30, while
Kevin Wickizer (Roaring Brook Twp., Pa./North Pocono) and
Gabe Franek (Dunmoore, Pa./Dunmoore) also finished in the top five, posting times of 1:11.11 and 1:11.30.
Jake Jones (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) competed in the men's pole vault, helping West Chester place an athlete in the top six of the event.
The Armory
Nick Forman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished fourth in the 5000m with a time of 15 minutes, 47.63 seconds inside the Armory in New York City.
Aaron Marcus (Easton, Pa./Easton) finished close behind in fifth with a time of 15:49.49.
Jason Vogt (West Chester, Pa./West Chester) placed eighth with a time of 15:56.71.
Andrew Bradley (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) took 15th in the event, finishing in 16:02.07.
Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener
Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) finished 29th in the 1500m on Friday in a time of 3:52.63. He was one of two Golden Rams running against mostly Division I distance runners inside the BU Track & Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University in Boston.
Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) was the other Golden Rams runner in Boston. He competed in the final event of the night on Saturday in the 5000m. Miller ran the 5000m in 14:27.54.
