Women's Lacrosse Climbs to Third in USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll; Holds Steady in IWLCA Poll

The West Chester University women's lacrosse team (6-0, 2-0) climbed to third in the latest USA Lacrosse Magazine rankings and remained third in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Coaches Poll it was announced on Monday morning.

West Chester remained third in the IWLCA poll as Tampa stayed atop the poll, followed by Florida Southern, West Chester, Lynn, and Maryville to round out the top five.

West Chester remains the first of five PSAC teams in the top-25 as Kutztown is 12th, East Stroudsburg remains 13th, Seton Hill is 15th, and Slippery Rock is 21st.

In the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll, Tampa and Florida Southern retained the top two spots at 7-0 and 9-0, respectively. Maryville was fourth, followed by Lynn in fifth. Pace, who was third last week, slipped to eighth after suffering its first loss of the year a week ago.

West Chester is also one of five PSAC teams in the USA Lacrosse poll, as Kutztown and Slippery Rock are 13th and 14th, while Seton Hill and East Stroudsburg are 19th and 20th to round out the top 20.
West Chester started PSAC play with a pair of wins last week, downing No. 13 East Stroudsburg by a 17-14 margin on Wednesday before posting a 22-7 win over Shippensburg on Sunday afternoon.

West Chester will play only once this week, hosting Millersville on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4 p.m.
