Men's Tennis to Host Salem on Thursday Afternoon

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men’s tennis team (0-8) will conclude its two-match homestand on Thursday afternoon against Salem beginning at 2 p.m. on South Campus.

Last Time Out

West Chester nearly opened PSAC East play with a victory on Saturday, giving Millersville all it could handle in a 4-3 setback on South Campus. West Chester was swept in doubles action to trail 1-0 early before Brady Burns, Felix Weber, and Mateus DeVasconcellos, all registered victories at third, fourth, and fifth singles to bring West Chester back into the match. The Marauders escaped with narrow victories at first, second, and sixth singles to hold off the Golden Rams.

Thursday looks to be another nearly perfect day for tennis as temperatures will hover in the high 50s under sunny skies with winds around 10 miles per hour. 

Scouting Salem

Salem enters Thursday at 1-6 on the year after an 0-3 trip to South Carolina last week, which included losses to Lafayette (7-0), DePauw (4-0), and Asbury (5-2). On the final day of its trip, Salem fell to Asbury by a 5-2 final despite starting the match with doubles victories from Pablo Guillen and Daniel Paipa, along with Roberto Ducoing and Enrico Pucci, along with a three-set singles win by Paipa.
