Men's Tennis to Visit West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday Morning

BUCKHANNON, W.V. - The West Chester University men's tennis team (0-9) is preparing for a visit to West Virginia on Saturday morning to take on West Virginia Wesleyan (4-5), beginning at 10 a.m.

West Chester concluded its homestand with a 6-1 setback vs Salem on Thursday afternoon on South Campus. West Chester was swept in doubles action before Felix Weber posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory at fourth singles to earn the first and eventually lone point of the day for the Golden Rams. Brady Burns nearly earned a second point for West Chester at third singles but fell in the third set by a 10- 7 final after splitting the opening sets by 1-6 and 6-2 finals.

Saturday looks favorable for tennis, with temperatures expected to climb to nearly 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Scouting WVWC

A perfect 4-0 at home and riding a two-match winning streak after defeating Bloomsburg and Shaw on the Wood Street Tennis Courts earlier this month, West Virginia Wesleyan (4-5) will look to return to .500 on Saturday morning against the Golden Rams in the final game of the Bobcats' three-match homestand. Against Shaw on Sunday, WVWC swept doubles with victories by the duos of Bottelberghs and Platts (6-2) at first doubles and Kreisel/Seto (6-3) at third doubles while Kreisel, Starsota, and Bottelberghs all earned singles victories in straight sets to close out the 4-0 victory.

Saturday's match is the first of four straight away games for the Golden Rams, as the team will visit UDC on Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m., Bloomsburg on Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m., and Ursinus on Thursday, April 10, at 4 p.m.
