Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 2/3 West Chester Runs Past Shepherd, 24-9

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WVA – All-American midfielder, Kerri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored seven goals to lead second-ranked West Chester to a 24-9 victory over host Shepherd in a PSAC Women's Lacrosse contest at Monte Crater Field Saturday.

West Chester (9-0, 5-0 PSAC East) remains undefeated on the season and atop the PSAC Eastern Division standings with the victory over Shepherd (4-5, 1-4). The Golden Rams' 24 goals tied a season high. West Chester also scored 24 times against American International College (AIC).

Host Shepherd got on the scoreboard first with a tally 27 seconds into the contest. However, West Chester responded with seven of the next eight markers to open a 7-2 lead and never look back. That spurt was powered by Barnett, who potted four of the seven goals with Lila McMahon Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) accounting for two herself.

Shepherd fought back with a goal in the final minute of the opening quarter and then another in the first 20 seconds of the second quarter to pull within three (7-4). But, Barnett scored on a free position to make it an 8-4 game. The Shepherd Rams shrunk the lead back to three with another goal. However, the Golden Rams responded once again with a three-goal run powered by Kendall Fortune (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) and Barnett all in a two-minute span that pushed the advantage to 11-5.

Fortune scored three times Saturday. McMahon Skates potted a pair of goals and assisted on three others. Amanda Wolfe (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) added two tallies herself while assisting on another.

Junior Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored four goals in the second half and finished with five in the game and a total of six points. The Golden Rams outscored the Rams by a 9-0 margin in the third quarter to finally run away from the hosts.

Kelsey King scored five goals for Shepherd, and teammate Katie Paredes added three goals and two assists to pace the hosts. Destiny Rockwell made 12 saves for Shepherd in the loss.

West Chester freshman goalkeeper, Morgan Koons (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) made nine saves in the win – one shy of her season-high 10 saves against Kutztown earlier in the week. Morgan McClintock (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Madeline Edinger (Persakie, Pa./Pennridge) each added one goal and three assists in the win. Senior defender, Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) scored her first goal of the year and second of her career. She also scored a goal her sophomore season in 2023. Nicolette Giordano (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and Grace Rosica (Dublin, Pa./Pennridge) also scored a goal.

The Golden Rams' ride forced a turnover seven of 15 times in the game. Shepherd committed a grand total of 27 turnovers – 14 of which were caused. DiCamillo caused three of those turnovers while Edinger and Wasdick caused a pair each in the riding game. DiCamillo scooped up six ground balls as well to fill out the scoresheet very nicely.

West Chester, which began the 2025 campaign with eight straight home games, continues this brief road trip – it's first of the season – on Wednesday with a 3 p.m. start at East Stroudsburg.
