WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University softball team (19-10, 5-7) was back in action on Tuesday afternoon against No. 9 East Stroudsburg (27-5, 11-1) in a crucial PSAC East matchup. East Stroudsburg swept West Chester on Tuesday, capturing game one by a 7-0 final before winning the nightcap 11-3.

East Stroudsburg jumped out to a five-run lead through the first two innings, which led to an early end of the day for
Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) as she slipped to 7-4, allowing five runs on five hits in 2.0 innings of work.
Alyssa Tooley (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) entered in relief and worked a scoreless three innings before allowing two runs on a line drive home run off the bat of Delaney Ridgell in the sixth. A Kinsley Proepper single then led to
Rhiannon Henry (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) entering in relief.
Henry worked a scoreless 1.1 in relief, allowing just two hits in the setback.
Sarah Davenport was nothing short of outstanding for East Stroudsburg in the victory, earning her 18th win of the year with her 16th complete game and ninth shutout. She allowed just two hits and six walks, while striking out 17.

LP: Makenzie Edwards (8-4)
In the nightcap, East Stroudsburg jumped out to an early eight-run lead after three and a half innings before
Madison Peck (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) cut into the deficit with a three-run shot in the fourth inning, which cut the deficit to 8-3.
Unfortunately, East Stroudsburg had a quick answer, scoring three runs in the top of the fifth to restore an 11-3 lead and defeat West Chester by an 11-3 final in five innings.
ESU hit five home runs in the nightcap to earn the five-inning victory.
Makenzie Edwards (Atco, N.J./Hammonton) (8-4) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four. Henry worked 1.2 innings in relief, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks, while
Jaelyn Silfies (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) finished the game in the circle, allowing one run on two hits as she got all three fifth inning outs.
Faith Troyer earned the win in a four-inning start, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out two. Abbie Landrum finished the game with a scoreless fifth inning, allowing just one walk in the victory.
