No. 1/2 Women's Lacrosse Appears in the First NCAA DII Regional Rankings

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The No. 1/2 West Chester University women's lacrosse team (14-0, 10-0) appeared in the first NCAA Division II women's lacrosse regional rankings of the year released by the Division II Women's Lacrosse Committee on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday's rankings were alphabetical and listed eight teams under consideration for formal, numerical ranking when those are released in the second regional rankings of the year next week. Next Wednesday will be the first two numerical rankings (4/23 and 4/30) released ahead of the Division II women's lacrosse selection show in early May.

West Chester clinched yet another PSAC East Regular Season title on Wednesday afternoon with an 18-13 victory over Kutztown, which gave the Golden Rams a sweep of the regular-season series against the Golden Bears after also sweeping the second-place East Stroudsburg University Warriors earlier this month.

West Chester is one of six PSAC teams listed in the initial rankings, as East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Millersville, Seton Hill, and Slippery Rock join the Golden Rams on the eight-team list. Limestone and Wingate are the lone two non-PSAC teams included in the initial rankings.

West Chester will have a well-deserved bye this weekend before returning to action next Wednesday afternoon vs Shepherd, beginning at 4 p.m. on Vonnie Gros in the regular-season home finale.
