No. 2 West Chester Downs No. 14 Kutztown in Shootout, 18-13

KUTZTOWN, PA – Second-ranked West Chester jumped out to a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes and tacked on six more in the second en route to an 18-13 victory over No. 14 Kutztown in a PSAC Eastern Division women's lacrosse contest Wednesday afternoon.
 
West Chester (14-0, 10-0 PSAC East) clinched the PSAC Eastern Division regular-season title with the win while Kutztown (9-6, 6-4) remains in third place following the contest. It marks the third straight year in which the Golden Rams have won the Eastern Division and the sixth time overall in the seven years that the PSAC has split into divisions.
 
Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored six goals and added four assists for a total of 10 points in the win. She also collected five draw controls and caused six turnovers as the Golden Rams defense and ride gave the host Golden Bears fits all afternoon. Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) scored twice and assisted on two others. She also led the squad with seven draw controls. Senior defender Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) scooped up five ground balls. Kutztown committed 23 turnovers in the loss.
 
Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored four goals while Lila McMahon-Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) finished with a hat trick and an assist for four points. Audrey Miller (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) finished with a goal and an assist.
 
Hannah Cornelius (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) improved to 10-0 in the cage for the Golden Rams, making five saves to backstop West Chester to the win. The Golden Rams return to the friendly confines of Vonnie Gros Field next Wednesday afternoon for its final regular-season home game against Shepherd University at 4 p.m.
