BLOOMSBURG, PA – Midfielder
Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) broke the school's single-season goal scoring record as West Chester finished up its third consecutive unbeaten regular season with a 24-14 victory over host Bloomsburg at Steph Pettit Stadium Saturday.
West Chester (16-0, 12-0 PSAC East) ran its regular-season unbeaten streak to 60 games, dating back to the 2022 campaign and has now won its last 44 conference tilts dating back to the same season. Bloomsburg finished up its season at 7-10 overall and 3-9 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Barnett scored seven goals in Saturday's win giving her 97 for the season which surpasses former All-American Kathleen Sheehan's record of 93 goals during the 2004 campaign. That mark stood for 24 years before this season. She also stands one goal shy of the PSAC single-season mark of 98 goals scored by Emily Mitarotonda of East Stroudsburg last season.
Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) contributed six goals while
Lila McMahon Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) added another five for the Golden Rams. Wasdick also led the team with eight draw controls while Barnett chipped in seven more.
Caitlin Trickett (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) scooped up six ground balls and caused four turnovers while
Kendall DiCamillo (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led the squad with seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.
Hannah Cornelius (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) started the game and made four saves before being relieved by freshman
Morgan Koons (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) who made one save playing in front of her hometown crowd. Cornelius picked up the win to improve to 11-0 on the season.
West Chester will host the semifinals and finals of the 2025 PSAC Tournament next weekend. The Golden Rams will take on the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal round match between Lock Haven and Seton Hill.
