Men's Track and Field Set for WCU Tune Up on Friday

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's track and field team is preparing for its final meet of the regular season this weekend as the Golden Rams host the WCU Tune Up on South Campus on Friday afternoon. West Chester will use this weekend to get its final preparations complete for the PSAC Championships at Slippery Rock next weekend.

Last Time Out

West Chester was back in action last week in split squad action as the Golden Rams competed at both Shippensburg and the 129th Penn Relays at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

At Penn Relays, Will Rivers finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 46 feet 11 ½ inches while the 4x100 relay team of Ronald Leraris, Amarre Mayo, Nick Tran, and Damian Simpson took fourth in 42.18 seconds.

Derrick Lukomski Pizzo highlighted West Chester's efforts at Penn as he finished fifth in the discus with a school record mark of 185-1, which is also the fourth-best mark in Division II entering the final weeks of the 2025 season.

At Shippensburg, David Burnshaw finished third in Heat 5 of the prelims and then finished 14th  overall with a time of 11.01 seconds. Kamaldeen Adegbite placed second in his prelims heat and 23rd overall with a time of 11.14 .
 
In the 200 meter dash, Burnshaw won his meet and was 10th overall with a time of 22.66.
 
In the pole vault, Sammy Jenkins placed 17th, clearing 14 feet, 9 inches.

Following the Golden Rams Friday night meet, West Chester will shift its attention to the PSAC Championships at Slippery Rock beginning on May 8.
