LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its men's cross country preseason coaches poll on Wednesday afternoon. West Chester was picked to finish ninth at the PSAC Championships in 2025.
Perennial power, Shippensburg, was picked as the preseason favorite with 14 first-place votes, followed by East Stroudsburg with the remaining first-place vote. Slippery Rock, Kutztown, and Lock Haven rounded out the top five while Indiana (Pa.), Gannon, California (Pa.), West Chester, and Edinboro made up the top 10.
West Chester heads into the 2025 campaign following a 2024 cross country season, which saw the team finish ninth at the PSAC Championships led by a 29
th-place finish by
Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) along with 32
nd and 33
rd place finishes by
Jason Shumaker (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) and
Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent).
West Chester will be plenty busy this fall season, beginning with the WCU Season Opener on September 5 for the first of nine meets this season. The PSAC Championships are set for October 25 at Edinboro.
