West Chester Men Start Strong in Opener vs So. Conn. State

MEET RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester's men's swimming & diving squad opened its 2025-2026 campaign with a stellar showing in a 186-53 victory over visiting Southern Connecticut State University inside Graham Natatorium Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester won 12 of the 13 events and swept the top three spots in nine of those wins. Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France), Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Jacob Texter (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) took the top three spots in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 free. Bartosz Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) won the 100 backstroke in 51.57 seconds while also leading off the 200 medley relay that took first place. West Chester claimed first and second place in the 200 medley relay.
 
Diver Boden Burkhart (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) won both diving events by taking the 1-meter springboard competition with a score of 253.35 and the 1m with a score of 310.80. Michael Finlaw (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) was third off both boards while Dominic Horning (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock) was fourth. Freshman Julian Alderfer (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) was fifth in the 1m event.
 
Till Schroeder (Weisbaden, Germany) won the 100 free in 47.73 and was part of the 200 medley relay that took first place. Schroeder, Brzozowski teamed up with Christian Henry (York, Pa./Central York) and Brey Wright (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Central) to make that winning team. Wright also won the 100 butterfly in a time of 51.39 seconds.
 
Kai Hang (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) won the 100 breaststroke. Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) won the 1000 free. Connor Williams (Washington Crossing, Pa./Council Rock North).
 
All-American Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) won the 200 individual medley in 1:56.46.
 
West Chester will be back in the pool on Oct. 11 when the Golden Rams travel to New York University for a 10:30 a.m. meet against powerhouse NYU.
