Men’s Swimming Falls to UPenn on Senior Night

PENN vs. WCU SWIM RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA
Bartosz Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) won the 100-yard butterfly, and Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) was runner-up in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle, but it was not enough to overcome University of Pennsylvania in a non-conference men's swim meet inside Graham Natatorium Friday evening, 181-111.

West Chester celebrated Senior Night in a brief ceremony before the final regular-season dual meet. The Golden Rams honored their three seniors, Chadd Corson (Wernersville, PA/Wilson), Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) and Demesy.

Brzozowski started off the evening as leadoff for West Chester's 200 medley relay that finished third in 1 minute, 31.20 seconds. Christian Henry (York, PA/Central York), Till Schroeder (Wiesbaden, Germany) and Augustus Miller (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) followed Brzozowski into the pool on that relay.

Demesy then swam the 1000 free in 9:20.24 to place second while teammate Szymon Kapala (Olsztyn, Poland) placed fourth in 9:30.00 flat.

Local product, Jacob Texter (West Grove, PA/Avon Grove), enjoyed an excellent meet starting it off with a runner-up showing in the 200 freestyle and a third-place effort in the 100 free. He also helped the 400 freestyle win the final event of the evening. He was the second swimmer in the pool off that relay which also included Noah Shand (Brighton, MI/Brighton), Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) and Schroeder. In addition to swimming both relays, Schroeder also finished runner-up in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 free. Connor Williams (Washington Crossing, PA/Council Rock North) placed fourth in the 50 free behind Schroeder.

Brzozowski placed third in the 100 backstroke (49.36) just ahead of Miller (50.87) in fourth. Nagy was runner-up in the 200 fly (1:49.91) while Nathan Noel (Destrehan, LA/Destrehan) was fourth. Noel was fifth in the 200 back, and Diez was sixth. Brzozowski won the 100 fly in 50.46 while Corson was second (50.64) and Miller third (51.95).

Nagy won the 200 Individual Medley in a time of 1:51.14). Noel was right behind in second (1:54.17) and Nickolas Snyder (York, PA/Central York) was third in 1:55.83.

On the diving boards, Dominik Horning (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) was the highest Golden Rams diver on both the 1-meter and 3m springboards finishing third each time. Michael Finlaw (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) and Jed Alderfer (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) were fourth and fifth, respectively, on each board behind Horning.

West Chester's divers will head to the Division II PA Invitational hosted by Clarion University on Feb. 13-14 while the swimmers will begin preparations for the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Swimming Championships, which will take place Feb.  18-21 at the YMCA in York, Pa.
