Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 17 Women's Soccer Cruises Past Millersville, 4-0

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) scored twice in the first 20 minutes to help lead the 17th-ranked West Chester University women's soccer team (9-1-1, 8-1-1) to a 4-0 victory over Millersville (6-3-3, 5-3-3) on the road on Wednesday night.

Barber opened the scoring in the fourth minute off an assist from Abigail Hanemann (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro), then scored her second goal of the night and fourth of the season in the 19th minute to give West Chester an early two-goal advantage.

With her two goals tonight, Barber has now recorded a point in each of West Chester's last three games, including a three-assist performance against Shepherd last Wednesday and another assist against Bloomsburg on Saturday.

West Chester found the back of the net two more times in the first half as Brielle Zink (Islip, N.Y./Islip) stretched the lead to 3-0 off a Kate Alexander (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) corner in the 28th minute before Lauren Reimold (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) converted a Maddie Mosier (Hockessin, Del./Padua Academy) corner in the 40th minute to give the Golden Rams a 4-0 halftime lead.

Millersville held West Chester to just one shot in the second half, outshooting the Golden Rams (5-1) in the frame, but West Chester still finished with an 8-6 lead in shots and a 4-3 lead in shots on goal.

Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) made three saves in the win, including a stop on Aubrey Strohecker, who had entered play as the Division II leader in goal scoring. This effort gave Keen her second consecutive shutout and her fourth solo shutout of the year after she made nine saves in a shutout win over Bloomsburg on Saturday, earning her PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week honors.
