West Chester’s Fast Start Too Much For Shippensburg, 44-10

WEST CHESTER, PA – Jack Pellicciotti (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) threw for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Mikhail Johnson (Darby, Pa. / Monsignor Bonner-Prendergast) scored on a 93-yard run in the fourth quarter as host West Chester had little trouble in front of a Senior Day crowd in a 44-10 victory over visiting Shippensburg Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (5-5, 2-4 PSAC East) scored the first 23 points of the game in the first half before Shippensburg (3-7, 1-5) could get on the board with a 33-yard field goal in the final minute of the second quarter.

The Golden Rams' defense held the Raiders' offense to minus-14 rushing yards, recorded eight sacks and forced three turnovers in a dominating effort in the final home game of the  2026 campaign. Shippensburg ran 79 plays and held the ball for more than 38 minutes in the contest, but only mustered 247 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile, West Chester finished the game with 430 yards of total offense, including 192 on the ground culminating in four rushing TDs. West Chester's defense also recorded a safety when Shippensburg punter, Wilson Ingerski, kicked the ball off one of his up-men while punting out of the back of his own end zone. The Raiders jumped on the loose ball to prevent the touchdown, but that was all they could do.

West Chester recorded three sacks, an interception and a safety in the first five minutes of the game, and Shippensburg could not recover from the slow start. The Golden Rams finished with eight sacks on the day – the most in a single game for WCU since 2021.

Senior WR Will Silverman (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East) caught a 27-yard TD pass from Pellicciotti following the first career interception by cornerback, Tim Gipli (Levittown, Pa. / Conwell-Egan), that gave West Chester the ball deep in Shippensburg's end. After the safety, Future Robertson (Philadelphia, Pa. / Roman Catholic) scored on a 10-yard run, and WR Dylan McKenzie (Oreland, PA Springfield (MONTCO) caught a 25-yard TD pass to put the home team out in front 23-0 early in the second quarter.

Robertson would score again from 17 yards out early in the third quarter, before Isaiah Wright (Douglassville, PA Malvern Prep) scampered in from six yards out in the fourth.

Shippensburg answered with a 9-yard TD pass midway through the fourth quarter. But, Johnson busted off his 93-yard sprint to paydirt with seven minutes remaining in the game that closed out the scoring at 44-10. That run was the second longest run from scrimmage in school history, behind only Randy Wynings 94-yard run against Kutztown in 1971.

McKenzie finished with seven catches for a game-high 123 yards and the one score. Pellicciotti was 19-for-27 for 238 yards, two TDs and one interception.

Seamus McCain (Philadelphia, Pa. / Penn Charter) led the way defensively with nine tackles, a pass breakup and a QB hurry. Debrick Johnson (Langhorne, Pa. / Conwell-Egan) recorded five tackles, including two unassisted sacks as well.

West Chester will travel to Gannon University next Saturday to close out the 2026 season against the Golden Knights in Erie, Pa. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.
