WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field squad was back in action this weekend at the Widener Indoor Classic held over two days, beginning at Widener on Friday before concluding at Penn on Saturday.
Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led West Chester in the 60 meters with a sixth-place finish in 7.83 seconds as the lone Golden Ram in the finals. Larsen also paced West Chester in the 200 with a ninth-place finish in 25.76 seconds.
Demi Pavlides (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Robert) led West Chester in the 400 with a time of 1:02.30, while
Jesslayn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) led a quartet of Golden Rams in the mile with a 44
th-place finish in 5:41.37.
Welsh also paced West Chester in the 3k with a 16
th-place finish in a time of 10:37.55.
Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led West Chester in the long jump with a mark of 17 feet 5 ¼ inches (5.31 meters) before finishing eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 36-0 (10.97m).
Leah Wasko (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) led West Chester in the triple jump with a sixth-place finish and a mark of 36-2 ¾ (11.04m).
Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led West Chester in the shot put and weight throw, recording marks of 37-9 ½ (11.52m) and 40-7 (12.37m). Deyarmin's effort in the shot put was good enough for a 10
th-place finish.
Kaylie Groff (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) led West Chester in the pole vault with a mark of 10-11 ¾ (33.35m) and a ninth-place finish.

West Chester will be back in action next week for a pair of last-chance meets at Haverford, the Keogh Invitational, and the Penn State Tune-up ahead of the PSAC Championships on the last weekend of February.
