Veerle Hersman (Lisa, The Netherlands), a sophomore midfielder from West Chester University, has been named the 2025
NFHCA Division II National Scholar-Athlete.
The NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor is presented annually to the Division II First Team All-American undergraduate who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year.
Hersman earned this prestigious distinction with an outstanding 4.00 cumulative GPA through the fall semester while continuing to excel on the field for the Golden Rams.
An anchor in West Chester's midfield, Hersman started all 21 contests during the 2025 season, totaling 36 points and five game-winning goals. A first-team All-PSAC selection and a member of the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team, Hersman ranked ninth nationally in NCAA Division II in goals per game.
Hersman is the first Golden Rams player to win the National Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors from the NFHCA.
