Final Results
BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Cassie Nugin (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) made history with her victory in the 800 to help lead the West Chester University women's track and field squad on day two of the PSAC Championships at Lehigh University. With this performance and another of other strong efforts throughout the Championships, West Chester finished eighth in the team standings with 40 points.
Abigail Hanneman (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro) finished seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:00.17.
Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and
Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) led West Chester with podium finishes in the 60 in 7.85 and 7.99 seconds, respectively. Larsen also made her way onto the 200 podium with an eighth-place finish in 26.26 seconds.
Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led West Chester in the triple jump with a seventh-place finish and a mark of 36 feet 2 ¾ inches (11.04 meters).
Cassie Nugin (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) started her career with a conference title in the 800 as she crossed the line in 2:16.81, followed by
Ember Foster (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) in fourth in 2:17.62. With this performance, Nugin became the Golden Rams first indoor champion in the 800. Prior to this performance, the best West Chester had finished in the 800 was second in both 2017 and 2013.
Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) and
Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) led West Chester in the 3K with 11th- and 12th-place finishes in 10:26.84 and 10:27.26, respectively.
West Chester wrapped up the PSAC Indoor Championships with an eighth-place finish in the 4x400 relay in 4:04.80, which scored the Golden Rams their final point of the weekend.
