Men's Tennis to Face Edinboro in Erie on Friday Afternoon

ERIE, Pa.- On the heels of its first win over Millersville since 2017, the West Chester University men's tennis team (3-4, 1-0) is set to return to action tomorrow for another important PSAC clash with Edinboro (1-8, 0-0) at 12 p.m. inside the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Last Time Out

West Chester opened PSAC play with a victory over Millersville on Wednesday night, prevailing over the Marauders by a 5-2 final after winning the doubles point and four of six singles matches. West Chester started its day with doubles victories by Thomaz Joly/JP Beirana-Guzman (6-3) at second doubles and Ashton Bunch/Zack Bull (6-3) at third doubles. West Chester won first singles (Bunch; 6-4, 7-6), third singles (Melotti; 7-6, 6-4), fourth singles (Beirana-Guzman; 6-4, 6-2), and fifth singles (Joly; 7-5, 6-1).

Starting Strong

Wednesday was West Chester's first win over Millersville since 2017 and was the Golden Rams first win to open PSAC play since a 6-3 win on March 26, 2016, at Kutztown.

Scouting Edinboro

West Chester heads to Edinboro this weekend to continue its PSAC slate against the Fighting Scots, who enter the weekend at 1-8 on the year in search of their first win since a 5-2 victory over Carnegie Mellon on February 6. Since that win, Edinboro has lost to Davis & Elkins (4-3), Findlay (5-1), North Carolina Central (6-1), St. Thomas Aquinas (4-3), Eckerd (5-2), Charleston (W.V.) (5-2), and West Virginia State (4-3). West Chester will be joined in Erie by Millersville as the Golden Rams and Marauders will take on the Fighting Scots on back-to-back days.

West Chester will return to action on Tuesday at Chestnut Hill, beginning at 3 p.m., before hosting Bloomsburg on April 2, beginning at 2 p.m.
