Last Time Out

West Chester enters play on Thursday looking to halt a two-match losing streak after falling to Chestnut Hill on the road on Tuesday afternoon by a 5-2 final. Alessandro Melotti  (7-5, 4-6, 1-0) and Thomaz Joly (6-2, 6-2) won their singles matches, while the doubles tandem of Joly and Juan Pablo Beirana-Guzman was victorious in second doubles by a 6-3 final, but it was not enough for the Golden Rams to defeat the homestanding Griffins in the 5-2 road setback.

In Recent History

Since 2008, West Chester is 3-14 against Bloomsburg and is looking for a win over the Huskies to halt a nine-match losing streak against its conference rivals. West Chester is in search of its first win over Bloomsburg since a 6-3 triumph in West Chester on March 27, 2015.

Weather Report

In a week filled with mostly 70-degree days, Thursday will be an unfortunate anomaly, with a forecast high of just 51 degrees under cloudy skies, before the temps return to the 70s for the weekend.

Scouting Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg enters its PSAC opener on Thursday following a 6-1 home victory over Juniata last Monday night, which halted a three-match losing streak that had seen the Huskies fall to Ithaca, West Virginia Wesleyan, and Fairmont State earlier in March.

Jack Seaborn leads the team in singles play at 9-4 overall, including 4-1 in dual matches with a 3-1 record at third singles, while Alejandro Higuera and Denis Dementev are 8-4 and 8-5 in singles play, including records of 2-2 and 2-3 at second and first singles, respectively. In doubles play, Lu Casamitjana and Dementev went 5-4 in Tournament play this year, but it is Sergio Dilan with whom Dementev has teamed up to go 3-2 in first doubles action in the regular season. Landon Wall and Higuera are 3-3 at third doubles, while Seaborn and Jaime Soria are 3-1 in second doubles.
