Women's Track and Field Set for Ursinus Track and Field Fesitval; William & Mary Colonial Relays This Weekend

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team continues its busy spring slate this weekend with more split squad action as the Golden Rams are set to compete at both the William & Mary Colonial Relays in Virginia as well as the Ursinus Track and Field Festival in nearby Collegeville on Friday and Saturday.

Last Time Out

Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) took seventh in the 100 in 12.35 seconds, while Ava Mills (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) was ninth in 12.56 seconds, which served as a new personal best. Larsen also took fifth in the 200 in 25.58 seconds, which, along with her 100 time, was also a PSAC Qualifying time.

Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) posted a PSAC Qualifying time and new personal best of her own in the 400 with a 12th-place finish and a mark of 59.20 seconds.

Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) was sixth in the 5K in 17 minutes and 39.71 seconds to finish sixth with a new personal best and PSAC Qualifying time of her own.

Cate Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) added another PSAC Qualifying time with a time of 14.94 seconds to finish fourth in the 100 hurdles.

West Chester finished second in the 4x100 relay in 39.21 seconds, while finishing 11th in the 4x400 relay in 4:36.70.

Hannah LaFave (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) led West Chester in the pole vault with a third-place finish and a mark of 11 feet 5 ¾ inches (3.50 meters), which was a PSAC Qualifying mark. Emily Donegan (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) took fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 10-11 ¾ (3.35m).

Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) started her weekend with a win in the triple jump on Friday night with a mark of 36 2 ¼ (11.03 meters), which served as a PSAC Qualifying mark before taking ninth in the long jump with a mark of 17-2 ¾ (5.25m).

Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led West Chester in the shot put with an eighth-place finish and a mark of 36-7 ¾ (11.17m). Deyarmin took 19th in the hammer and 22nd in the discus with marks of 128-9 (39.24m) and 98-7 (30.05m), respectively. Deyarmin's discus mark also set a new personal best.

Kendall Thompson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East), who set a new program record in her collegiate javelin debut last week, finished seventh in the javelin this week with a mark of 112-8 (34.35m).

Raleigh Relays

In Raleigh, Ember Foster (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) led West Chester in the 800 as she crossed the line in 2:15.96.

Up Next

West Chester will return home next weekend for the Bill Butler Invitational on April 10-11 with a small contingent making the trip to Bucknell on Saturday for the Bison Outdoor Classic.
