WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester men's tennis team (5-8, 1-2) is set to return to action this week for its final matches of the 2025-26 regular season beginning with home matches on Monday and Tuesday against Bloomsburg and Kutztown beginning at 2 and 3 p.m., respectively.

West Chester heads into the week after dropping a pair of matches last week, falling to West Virginia Wesleyan (7-0) and Frostburg State (4-3) on Friday and Saturday afternoon. At Frostburg State on Saturday,

Alessandro Melotti took first and third doubles by 6-1 and 6-4 scores to give West Chester an early 1-0 lead in the match. Pascale and Jovicic also wons fifth and sixth singles by 7-6, 7-6 and 6-0, 6-1 finals, while Joly forced a decisive third set in third singles but it was not enough to hold off the Bobcat comeback bid.
The Series
Since 2008, West Chester is 3-14 against Bloomsburg, including a nine-matching losing streak with a 7-0 loss at Bloomsburg last April. West Chester's last win over Bloomsburg came at home in March 2015.
Against Kutztown since 2008, West Chester is also 3-15, riding a three-match losing streak with the Golden Rams last win over the Golden Bears coming in March 2022.

Scouting Bloomsburg
Bloomsburg enters play at 6-5 overall and 2-1 in league play, including a 5-2 win at Kutztown last Wednesday and a 6-1 win over Salem at home last Thursday.
In singles play, Denis Dementev and Jack Seaborn are 12-5 and 12-6, while Alejandro Higuera is 11-5, including a 4-3 mark in second singles. In doubles, Dementev and Sergio Dilan 7-2 in first doubles, while Seaborn and Jaime Soria are 5-3 in second doubles.
Scouting Kutztown
Kutztown enters the week 5-10 overall and 0-4 in league action, searching for its first win since a 7-0 victory over Muhlenberg on March 27. Kutztown's last match was a home match with Bloomsburg on April 15, which ended in a 5-2loss to the Huskies.
In singles, Emmitt Robinson is 7-5, including a 4-3 mark in fifth singles, while Patrick Young is 6-5, including a 3-0 mark in fourth singles. Dang Nguyen is 5-9 in first singles, while Henrique Rocha is 2-9 in second singles.
