PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team returned to action on Friday at the 130
th Penn Relays in the prelims of the 4x100 and 4x400 relays and the javelin to kick off a busy weekend of action ahead of the PSAC Championships next week in Shippensburg.
With the quartet of
Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown), Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette, and Ava Mills (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), West Chester took 16
th in the 4x100 relay College Division in 47.43 seconds.
The quartet of
Rebekah Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley), Cassie Nugin (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff), Cate Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South), and Ember Foster (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) took eighth in the 4x400 prelims in 3:59.94 seconds to punch its ticket to the Saturday finals of the 4x400 Eastern Division beginning at 5:20 p.m.
Kendall Thompson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) took 32
nd in the javelin with a mark of 94 feet 2 inches (28.70 meters).
West Chester will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the Penn Relays and the second and final day of the Paul Kaiser Invitational at Shippensburg.
