Men's Track and Field Competes at Penn Relays, Paul Kaiser Classic

Golden Rams Take Second in 4x400 Eastern Division at Penn Relays

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The West Chester University men's track and field team returned to action on Saturday in split squad action for the final time this season, competing at the 21st Paul Kaiser Classic and the 130th Penn Relays.

On the final day of the 130TH Penn Relays, which were dubbed America250 Day in honor of the United States of America's 250th Birthday this summer, the West Chester quartet of Terry Dweh (Darby, Pa./Penn Wood), Jordan Barge (Lititz, Pa./Warwick), Xavier Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill), and David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) took second in the 4x400 Eastern finals in 3:19.86, which was the top finish of any non-Division I program in the field. Manhattan won the event in 3:19.67.

21st Paul Kaiser Classic

AC Ross (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) took third in the 200 in 22.36 seconds, while Jhaven Sims-Pagan (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) won the 110 hurdles in 14.88 seconds.

Nick Forman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), Andrew Bradley (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum), and Louie Edgcumbe (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) finished 1,2,3 in the 10K in 33 minutes and 3.14 seconds, 33:25.55, and 33:27.03, respectively.

Kevin Wickizer (Roaring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) took third in the 400 hurdles in 56.75 seconds.

Ryan Wack (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) led West Chester in the 3000 steeplechase in 10:19.36, while Gavin Sheetz (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) was seventh in 10:22.39.

Xavier Campbell (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) led West Chester in the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet 8 inches (13.00 meters), which was good enough for a sixth-place finish, while Ronald Leraris (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) took seventh in the long jump with a mark of 21-1 ¼ (6.43m).

Thomas Smith (Wallingford, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led West Chester in the shotput with a fifth-place finish and a mark of 51 1 ½ (15.58 meters), while Jacob Joslin (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) was sixth with a mark of 50-7 ½ (15.43m).

West Chester will be back in action next weekend for the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg beginning on April 30.
