Emma Deyarmin puts the shot at a home meet

Women's Track and Field Competes at Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team returned to action on Saturday for a final tune-up ahead of the PSAC Championships next weekend as the team competed on day two of the 21st Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.

Morgan Pera (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh), Cate Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South), and Leah Wasko (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) went 1,2,3 in the 100 hurdles, finishing in 14.40, 14.75, and 14.88 seconds, respectively.

In the 400 hurdles, Aliah Contreras (Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) took eighth in 1:12.83, while Megan Werner (Bristol, Pa./Conwell Egan) won the 3000 steeplechase in 11:48.90.
Mya Thompson (Mount Joy, Pa./Hempfield) took sixth in the 200 in 26.36 seconds.

Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) won the long jump with a mark of 16 feet 10 inches (5.13 meters).

Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) took seventh in the discus with a mark of 118-6 (36.11m) and 10th in the shot put with a mark of 36-2 (11.02m).

West Chester qualified for the Saturday night finals in the 4x400 Eastern Division at the 130th Penn Relays on Friday, but did not start in Saturday night's final at Franklin Field on what the Relays had dubbed as America250 Day.

West Chester will be back in action next weekend for the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg beginning on April 30.
