Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Seventh-Ranked Slippery Rock Tops 10th-ranked West Chester, 13-7, in PSAC Semifinals

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA – No. 7 Slippery Rock downed No. 10 West Chester, 13-7, in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) tournament.

West Chester (15-4) dropped its first conference semifinal since 2017 while Slippery Rock (19-0) advances to the conference finals for the second straight year. The Rock outscored the Golden Rams, 9-2, in the second half of a game that was controlled by the home team at the draw.

West Chester held a 5-4 advantage at halftime, but the purple & gold played at least one player down for much of the third quarter surrendering a pair of player-down goals. As a result, the Golden Rams were held scoreless for a little over 20 minutes – almost the entire third quarter – trying to kill penalties for much of that time.

The Rock dominated the draws winning 17 of 22 in the contest. That led to a lop-sided 36-20 advantage in shots for Slippery Rock. It is the fewest shots West Chester has taken in a game since 2023 when they took 18 shots against Pace in the national championship game.

Lila McMahon-Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) finished with three goals and one assist to lead the Golden Rams' offensive attack. She becomes just the 11th different Golden Ram to reach 100 points in a season. Kendall Fortune (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford), scored a pair of goals while Avery Roberts (Mantua, N.J./Clearview) and Marissa Herring (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett Squarer) also scored for the visitors.

Goalkeeper, Morgan Koons (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) made a career-high 13 saves in the loss.

West Chester will now wait until Sunday night to see if they receive an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The bracket will be announced on NCAA.com on Sunday night at 8 p.m.
