WEST CHESTER, PA. – West Chester University released its 2026 Football Schedule this afternoon. The 11-game slate will be played over 72 days in the fall and features five home dates.
New to this year's list of opponents is Lackawanna College and Lincoln University, along with Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division crossover foes Indiana (Pa.), Edinboro and Gannon.
The biggest change to schedules in the PSAC is that Lackawanna, the newest full-time member of the PSAC beginning in 2026-27, will join the Eastern Division, which in-turn slides Lock Haven back over to the West, where they competed from 1960 to 2012, to balance out the teams in football.
West Chester faces two squads who qualified for the NCAA II Playoffs a year ago, including national semifinalist and three-time defending PSAC Champion, Kutztown. The Golden Rams also take on NCAA II Playoff participant from a year ago, IUP. Five of West Chester's opponents authored winning seasons last fall.
Head coach
Duke Greco opens the 2026 campaign on Saturday, September 5 on the road against Lincoln at 1 p.m. in what will be the first football contest between the two schools, which are located 35 miles apart. The Golden Rams lift the lid on their home slate one week later against IUP at 6 p.m. under the lights at Tomlinson-Fillippo Field at Farrell Stadium. It will be the first night game at home for the Golden Rams since 2022.
"We are excited about the challenges this schedule presents and the opportunity to compete in front of our fans under the lights at Farrell Stadium again," Coach Greco commented. "Our team is looking forward to opening a new chapter against some new opponents while continuing the great rivalries that make PSAC football special."
Following a trip out to Western PA in Week 3, West Chester returns home on Sept. 26 for a Homecoming Weekend matchup against Millersville at 2 p.m. The Golden Rams then travel to East Stroudsburg on Oct. 3 for a kickoff at 1:05 p.m.
West Chester plays the second of three home games at night on Oct. 10 when Shepherd University comes calling to Farrell for a 6 p.m. start. That game is the first of two straight evening contests at home as Lackawanna College makes its initial trip to Chester County for a 6 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 17.
The next two weekends will see the Golden Rams on the road at Kutztown on Oct. 24 for a noon start and at Bloomsburg on Halloween (Oct. 31) for a 2 p.m. kick.
November 7 will be West Chester's final home game of the 2026 season against Shippensburg at 2 p.m. on Family Weekend. In addition to the game serving as the traditional Senior Day tilt, Nov. 7 will also be Military / First Responder's Day.
The Golden Rams conclude the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Gannon at 12 p.m.
