WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The West Chester University football team has been picked to finish fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division, according to the league's annual preseason coaches' poll released on Thursday.
The Golden Rams (4-7, 2-5 PSAC East in 2025) move up two spots from last year's sixth-place finish. West Chester looks to continue its climb up the conference standings under third-year head coach
Duke Greco.
Kutztown, which has captured the PSAC Eastern Division title in each of the past three seasons and enters 2026 as the three-time defending PSAC champion, earned the top spot in the Eastern Division preseason poll with six first-place votes. East Stroudsburg was selected second, while Shepherd, which received the remaining first-place vote, was picked third ahead of the Golden Rams. Bloomsburg, Shippensburg and Millersville rounded out the Eastern Division poll.
In the West, Indiana University (IUP) claimed the top spot with five first-place votes, followed by Slippery Rock, which received three first-place tallies. California University of Pa. (Cal U) was tabbed third, followed by Edinboro, Clarion, Seton Hill, Lock Haven and Gannon.
West Chester opens the 2026 gridiron season on Saturday, Sept. 5, traveling to nearby Lincoln University for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
