Five Things to Know
- The third-ranked Golden Rams return to action on Saturday following a decisive 6-0 home opener victory over Lackawanna on Rockwell Field last Saturday. Emma Suhoski (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) scored twice in a span of two minutes in the second half, while Brielle Zink (Islip, N.Y./Islip), Grace Trott (Fulton, Md./Mount De Sales Academy), Abigail Hanemann (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro), and Hailey Primwhere (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) all added goals of their own in the victory. West Chester outshot its guests by a 46-3 (23-3 shots on goal) margin, while also finishing the game with a 12-0 lead in corners.
- Hanemann, Suhoski, and Trott are tied for the team lead in scoring through three games with four points each, as Hanemann and Suhoski have each scored two goals, while Trott has a goal and two assists. West Chester has yet to allow a goal in any of its first three matches of the season. Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) has played 243 of the 270 minutes and made seven saves in the three wins, while Domenica Rasi (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) made a pair of saves in the final 28 minutes of the win over Lackawanna last weekend.
- After a 2-2 draw against West Virginia Wesleyan and a 6-0 win at Lackawanna to open the season, Shippensburg has fallen on hard times as the Raiders have been held scoreless in each of their last three matches, falling to Shepherd (2-0), Bloomsburg (3-0), and Millersville (3-0) to drop to 1-3-1 on the year and 0-3-0 in league action.
- Paige Marek and Cailin Spelman are tied for the team lead in scoring with two goals each, while Andrea black, Emma Eisenhart, Ashley Hughes, and Gabrielle Walker all have one goal of their own through five games. Kirstin Brown is 1-3-1 in goal with 21 saves and a 2.35 goals-against average in 384 minutes of action through five starts.
- West Chester is 37-6-1 against Shippensburg after going 1-0-1 against the Raiders last fall. West Chester is 7-2-1 against the Raiders in the last 10 meetings but is in search of its first win at the Raiders since a 4-0 victory in September 2023.
