Bryan Anderson (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Special Teams Athlete of the Week it was announced Monday afternoon.
Anderson recorded five tackles, including two on special teams, while also registering a 66-yard scoop and score on an IUP missed field goal attempt in the fourth quarter that tied the game and sent it into overtime. Anderson had two solo tackles and three assisted stops. Both of his solo tackles came on special teams.
West Chester pushed then-No. 14 IUP to the brink in double overtime before falling, 27-21 Saturday night.
This is the first weekly award for a West Chester football player this season and the first recognition for Anderson in his college career.
West Chester hits the road this coming Saturday for a crossover match against Edinboro at 12 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium.
