KUTZTOWN, Pa.- The fourth-ranked West Chester University women's soccer team (5-1-1, 4-1-1) returned to action on Wednesday night at No. 22 Kutztown (7-1-1, 5-1-0) in an important PSAC East clash. Facing its first top-25 foe of the regular season after its season opener at Jefferson was postponed, West Chester fell to the host Golden Bears 1-0 after trailing at halftime.

Corinne Morgan scored Kutztown's first and only goal in the 29th minute, off an assist from Maura Day, to give the 22nd-ranked Golden Bears an early 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

In the second half, West Chester outshot its hosts by a 6-2 margin, including a 5-1 lead in shots on goal along with a 7-3 lead in corners, but Morgan O'Donnell was up to the task, making five saves to hand West Chester its first loss of the 2026 season.

West Chester had a pair of chances in a 25-second span in the 85^th minute when Adriana Ryder (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) and Brielle Zink (Islip, N.Y./Islip) both took shots on goal, but O'Donnell saved both chances for what was the final shots of the night for either side.

West Chester finished the match with a 10-5 lead in shots, a 6-4 lead in shots on goal, and a 7-4 lead in corners. Ryder led the Golden Rams in shots and shots on goal with three total shots, with two of the three finding their way on goal.

Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) made three saves in the loss, while O'Donnell made five stops to slow the potent Golden Ram offense, which entered play on Wednesday following a five-goal performance in a conference win over Mansfield on Saturday.
