No. 4 Women's Soccer Rolls Past Lackawanna

SCRANTON, Pa.- The fourth-ranked West Chester University women's soccer team (6-1-1) got right back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 5-1 victory over Lackawanna (1-8-0). West Chester scored four goals in the first half and never looked back as the Golden Rams cruised to a 5-1 win over the homestanding Falcons.

Kaylee Nagle (Toms River, N.J./Toms River), Brielle Zink (Islip, N.Y./Islip), Grace Trott (Fulton, Md./Mount De Sales Academy), Emma Suhoski (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood), and Jenna Eichenbaum (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) all scored goals for the Golden Rams, with Eichenbaum's early second-half tally being the lone Golden Ram score of the final 45 minutes of action.

Nagle's goal came just over two minutes into the match as the junior gave the Golden Rams an early one-goal lead that the team would never relinquish but it was Zink's goal in the 27th minute that officially went into the record books as the game-winning goal after a late second-half goal by Lackawanna for the final score of the afternoon.

For Suhoski, her goal in the 35th minute was her third of the season, with all three coming against Lackawanna after she scored a pair in a two-minute span against the Falcons in the first meeting between the two sides earlier in September on Rockwell Field.
West Chester controlled the first half, outshooting Lackawanna 17-0 in the half, including an 11-0 lead in shots on goal and a 9-0 lead in corners, as the fourth-ranked Golden Rams looked to bounce back quickly after a setback at No. 22 Kutztown on Wednesday night.

In the 59th minute, Eichenbaum added to the West Chester lead with her second goal of the season and second in a three-game span to give the Golden Rams a 5-0 lead.

Alana Alayo got Lackawanna on the scoreboard with a goal in the 67th minute against Norah Quinn (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), who had entered in the second half for Grace Keen (Lincoln University, Pa./Avon Grove) after a scoreless first half by the senior.

West Chester finished the game with a 25-2 lead in shots and a 16-1 lead in shots on goal, along with a 13-0 lead in corners.

Sophia Arvelo made 11 saves for Lackawanna to slow the Falcon offense, while Keen and Quinn split the game for West Chester, as Keen played the first half and Quinn played the second half. Neither Keen nor Quinn was credited with a save in the victory.
