WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's tennis team (1-0) opened its fall season with a victory over Albright on Tuesday and has now shifted its attention to a Thursday afternoon clash with St. Thomas Aquinas (1-0) on South Campus beginning at 2 p.m.

Five Things to Know
- West Chester opened its season with a 5-2 win over Albright, capturing five of six singles matches, including a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory at fourth singles by Thomaz Joly to erase an early 1-0 deficit after doubles and start the 2026-27 season with a win.
- West Chester will meet St. Thomas Aquinas in October for the sixth consecutive season after starting its fall series with the Spartans in October 2021. West Chester is in search of its first win over STAC since March 2015 in Tampa and its first win at home over the Spartans since October 2014.
- STAC enters play on Thursday after opening its fall season with a 6-1 win at Iona on September 25. At Iona, STAC swept the doubles point and captured five of the six singles matches, with the lone loss being a 6-3, 6-1 decision in fourth singles as Brandon Ramos held off Erik Victor Tauson for the lone point of the day for Iona.
- Thursday looks to be an excellent day for tennis in the Delaware Valley, with a forecasted high of 78 under mostly sunny skies.
- West Chester returns to action on October 15 at Bloomsburg for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Championships before finishing the fall season at home against Yeshiva on October 20 at 3:30 p.m.
