COATESVILLE, Pa.- Meya Ranges (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) paced West Chester at the WCU Season Opener on Friday night in Coatesville as she helped the Golden Rams get the 2026 season underway. Friday night's race was also the Golden Rams' first race at their new cross country race day home, Plantation Field in Coatesville, marking a new era for the West Chester cross country program.
Ranges was one of a host of Golden Rams to make his collegiate debut and was among the first to traverse the Golden Rams' new home course as West Chester moved its cross country race day home from Unionville to Coatesville for the 2026 season. West Chester also had the chance to welcome back its cross country alumni as Friday night's season opener was designated as Alumni Day for the Golden Rams.
Tonight's race was one of three home meets on the calendar this fall for West Chester, as the Golden Rams will return home on September 26 for the Purple and Gold Open and again on October 10 for the Golden Ram Open.
