Nick Brady came over to West Chester from Delaware Valley University with head coach Duke Greco where he was Greco's defensive coordinator for the previous eight years. In his first year in new surroundings, Brady mentored linebacker Connor Noble, who was a first-team All-PSAC East selection, first team All-Super Region One and an honorable mention All-American by Don Hansen Football Gozette last fall.

West Chester ranked eighth in the PSAC in scoring defense, averaging 24.7 points allowed per game while learning a brand new scheme under Brady. The Golden Rams also ranked sixth in the conference in interceptions and 10th in sacks.

Brady coached 14 years for his alma mater, including his eighth as the Aggies' defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Since taking over the defensive duties, he has seen 60 players named to all-MAC teams, including seven conference defensive players of the year, three all-east region defensive player of the year, 12 All-Americans, and 20 all-region players. In 2022, senior defensive end Michael Nobile became the first player in school history to earn national Player of the Year honors.

The 2022 Del Val defense helped lead the Aggies to their fifth consecutive MAC title and third consecutive NCAA appearance. Brady led one of the best defenses in the country which included seven All-MAC selections, and 18 All-Region selections. Brady helped coach one of the best defensive players in the country during the 2022 season in senior Mike Nobile. Nobile finished the year as MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Region 1 Defensive Player of the Year, first team All-America, and was a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy. Three Aggie defensemen, Nobile, Anthony Nobile and Blaine Netterman earned D3Football.com All-America honors. Del Val went undefeated in the regular season for the second consecutive year in a row and hosted three games in the NCAA Tournament.

In 2021, Brady led the Aggies to an undefeated regular season and established his defense as one of the best defensive units in the entire nation. During the season, the Aggies defense only allowed 6.75 points per game and only eight touchdowns allowed. In 12 games, the defense did not allow a single rushing touchdown all season. Del Val had seven All-MAC selections, seven All-Region 1 selections and the 2021 Region-1 Defensive Player of the Year in junior, Yusuf Aladinov. Four Aggie defensemen Yusuf Aladinov, Anthony Tedesco, Jamir Prevard and Justin Harris were selected as 2021 All-Americans.

The 2019 Aggie defense was once again ranked among the top units in all of Division III under Brady. They finished the season ranked seventh in scoring defense (12.8 ppg) and second in total defense (215.2 ypg), and ranked inside the Top 10 in four other categories. The squad inercepted 24 passes, the second most in the nation, recovered seven fumbles and got to opposing quarterbacks for 45 sacks. Individually, three defensive players earned All-Region and All-America honors and a total of nine players earned All-MAC accolades. For the second year in a row, Michael Nobile was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American, and he took home East Region Defensive Player of the Year honors for the first time.

In 2018, Brady's squad allowed just 13.8 points and 152 yards per game to opposing offenses. They surrendered just two yards per rushing attempt and a total of 72 rush yards per showing. Defensive end Michael Nobile was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, one of seven defensive players to be named to the all-conference team. Nobile and his twin brother Anthony represented the defensive unit on the All-East Region team and Nobile went on to earn All-America honors from two different publications.

Brady's defensive unit was dominant in 2017 as Del Val won the MAC and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals. The defense allowed just 10.5 points and 262.8 yards per game while forcing a total of 33 turnovers. Nine players from the defense were named to the all-conference team, including Shawn Miller who was later selected to a pair of All-America teams.

Brady's first year coordinating the defense saw the Aggies permit just 14.5 points and 268.3 yards per game. Eight players on the defensive side of the ball earned all-conference honors. Brady was a running backs coach for his first six seasons at Del Val and also was a co-special teams coordinator from 2014 to 2015. Eight running backs combined for 10 all-conference honors during that time, including All-Americans Matt Cook and Chris Smallwood.
 
Brady graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2004 with a bachelor of science degree in Sport Management.
