Biography

Returning starting quarterback for the Golden Rams … given an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA because of his history of injuries … a preseason hopeful for the Harlon Hill Trophy … named second team All-PSAC East … also named third team All Super Region 1 by Don Hanson’s Football Gazette … one of the conference’s and the region’s top returning passers … ranked 13th in the NCAA in pass efficiency rating … ranked 20th in the country in total offense … ranked second in the conference in both categories behind Edinboro’s Trevor Harris … offensive team captain this coming season … led the PSAC in many passing categories last fall … placed second in a number of other significant categories … turned in one of the most prolific single seasons under center in West Chester University history … one of only four Golden Rams quarterbacks to pass for more than 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns in a season … vying to become just the second West Chester quarterback to throw for more than 3,000 yards in a single season twice during their college career (Dave McDonald: 3,613 – 1994; 3,085 – 1992) … will be without his favorite target, Mike Washington, this fall … always makes the right read on a play … possesses that calm in the middle of a storm mentality on the field … will not be rattled by any situation … has suffered through an injury-plagued college career … has stayed the course through a total of four operations on both knees … strong arm … very knowledgeable about the offense … provides a comfort level and leadership in the huddle … coaching staff is expecting him to lead a talented offense in 2009 … returns to run the conference’s fourth-ranked total offense and second-ranked passing offense … threw for more than 300 yards in a game four times last season … three-year letterwinner.

2008: Appeared in and started all 13 games for the Golden Rams … turned in a career year in his first season as the No. 1 starter running the offense on a daily basis … threw for 3,336 yards and 28 touchdowns … led the PSAC in passing yards (3,336) and average per game (256.6) … ranked second in touchdowns (28), pass efficiency rating (158.06) and total offense yards per game (260.5) … ran the conference’s fourth-ranked total offense (425.9 yards per game) and fourth-ranked scoring offense (34.5 points per game) … West Chester ranked second in passing offense in the loop (273 yards per game) … Wright ranked 13th in the NCAA in pass efficiency rating … ranked 20th in the country in total offense … ranked second in the conference in both categories behind Edinboro’s Trevor Harris … turned in one of the most prolific single seasons under center in West Chester University history … one of only four Golden Rams quarterbacks to pass for more than 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns in a season … threw for more than 300 yards in a game four times last season … went 19-for-27 with a season-best 385 yards and six touchdowns at Kutztown … threw just two interceptions in 208 attempts during one stretch of the season … threw just 12 interceptions on the year … went 22-for-42 for 345 yards and just one INT in PSAC Championship game against nationally ranked California (Pa.) … went 23-for-39 for 311 yards and four TDs in season opener against the Vulcans … threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns against Shippensburg on homecoming … threw a TD pass in every game last season … completed a season-high 23 passes against Cal in season opener … his 3,336 yards passing ranks fourth all-time in a single season at West Chester … his 28 TDs ranks tied for fifth all-time in a single season at West Chester … 349 pass attempts ranks sixth all-time in a single season at West Chester … 203 completions ranks fourth all-time in a single season at West Chester … threw for more than 200 yards in a game nine times.

2007: Appeared in two games before suffering his fourth knee injury in the past five years … went down in Delaware contest after relieving starter Bill Zwaan Jr. … completed five of seven attempts for 50 yards in West Chester’s first two games … missed the rest of the season with a knee injury.

2006: Appeared in five games … threw for 35 yards on three completions … went a perfect 2-for-2 for 19 yards against Cheyney … also went 1-for-3 at Delaware, completing a 16-yard pass … carried the ball four times for 18 yards against the Blue Hens.

2005: Appeared in two games … completed 3 of 5 pass attempts for 40 yards and one touchdown ... rushed the ball five time for -15 yards … went 3-for-4 against Cheyney for 49 yards … also carried the ball once for a 12-yard gain … registered first career touchdown pass, hooking up with Mike Brazill on a 19-yard strike in the fourth quarter … PSAC academic honor roll student.
