The lone recruit from the western side of the state, Polak graduated as his high school's all-time leading scorer and set a Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) record for most 3-pointers in a single game (11). He was a three-time, first-team all-section pick and a two-time 3A Fab Five selection, who scored 1,718 points in his high school career. He led the Ironmen to an 8-3 mark and a second-place finish in league play last winter.
