Tyler Smith, a West Chester native, returns to the West Chester coaching staff for a second year following his position as an assistant high school basketball coach and mentor in Kensington, Philadelphia. In this role, Smith was heavily involved in player development on and off the court, including player workouts, academic support, and individual mentorship. He has gained additional experience coaching with the WeR1 and Hoops2Life AAU programs.  Smith held these positions while attending undergraduate classes at Temple University, where he graduated with a degree in Adult and Organizational Development in May 2022. Smith continues to pursue a Master’s degree in Higher Education Policy while at West Chester, working also with the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement and the Student Athlete Success Program, a position where he is responsible for the organization and facilitation of leadership programming for West Chester’s student athletes.
