Meredith McAlister embarks on her first season on the West Chester University softball staff in 2024-25 with a wealth of softball coaching experience.
Officially hired by the Golden Rams in August, McAlister joins West Chester after serving as an assistant coach at Franklin & Marshall College since February 2023. During her tenure with F&M, McAlister provided skill-specific training to the Diplomat pitching staff, which helped develop them into one of the top staffs in the rigorous Centennial Conference.
 Before her time at F&M, McAlister was the head softball coach at Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Maryland, from March 2005 to February 2023. In her 15 years with Severna Park, she helped guide her charges to a pair of State Championship appearances, four East Region, and seven County Championships. The Capital Gazette and Washington Post recognized a member of the Severna Park Hall of Fame, McAlister, as Coach of the Year throughout her tenure at the helm.
In addition to her softball coaching experience, McAlister also served as the head coach of the Mount St. Mary’s University women’s rugby program for two seasons.
In addition to her Institutional coaching experience, McAlister founded and has led the TNT Maryland API Softball program since August 2018.
A former two-sport Division I student-athlete at LIU-Brooklyn, McAlister starred on the soccer and softball field from 1999-2001. In her playing career, she was a part of Northeast Conference Championship teams and qualified for the Women’s College World Series in both seasons.
