Andrew Huber

Andrew Huber begins his nihth year as head coach of the West Chester University men’s and women’s cross country squads as well as serving the athletic department as its summer camps coordinator. Huber previously served as the director of both the cross country and track & field programs at West Chester University.

A native of Chester County, Huber has produced 13 all-academic cross country and track & field athletes, ten all-academic cross country and track & field teams, 63 PSAC all-conference selections, 21 PSAC conference champions, 26 NCAA Division II qualifiers, and 10 NCAA Division II All-Americans. In addition, the 2006-07 men’s outdoor track & field team produced the highest PSAC championship finish (5th) since 1983.

Prior to his arrival at West Chester University, Huber was an English teacher and the head cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field coach at Octorara Area High School where he coached many state qualifiers in all seasons, as well as several national qualifiers, one state champion, and one high school All-American.

Huber’s athletes won 22 PIAA District I medals in cross country in four years, as well as the PIAA District I cross country championship in 2000. Huber was named the Southern Chester County League coach of the year that same season.

Huber holds Level I and Level II certifications in endurance events, jumps and throws from USA Track & Field, Levels I, II, and III certification from Paavo Distance Coaching clinics, and is a member of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

A 1995 graduate of Messiah College with a B.A. in English, Huber was a six-time MAC All-American for the Falcons during his career, as well as a high school state medalist and a Junior Olympics national qualifier. Huber also holds a M.S. in Sport Administration from California University of Pennsylvania and recently completed his seventh marathon. He is a native of Lincoln University, Pa., in Southern Chester County and a 1991 graduate of Oxford Area High School.

Huber currently resides in Landenberg, Pa., with his wife, Jody, and their daughter, Sophie Jane (5).
