Claudia Owczarz had an incredible weekend with five first place finishes, including a breaking a West Chester record to help the Golden Rams capture their ninth consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title, 13th  overall, with a score of 636.5 points inside Graham Aquatics Center as a part of a four-day event.
The mid-season transfer came out with a bang, taking first place in the 50 free, clocking in at a time of 23.66 in her first appearance at the PSAC championships. She would carry that into the second day winning the 100 butterfly in individual competition, while leading off for the Golden Rams in the 200-relay to grab another first place finish.
Owczarz would make West Chester history on the third day by breaking former WCU national champion swimmer Jackie Borkowskis’s record in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 55.17 seconds, 39 tenths ahead of the Borkowskis's record of 55.56. She would close the weekend out with a first place finish in the 200 backstroke to contribute to the team’s first-place finish to take home the conference championship.
