Joe Messina continued what has been a strong run of outings last week at Wilmington, tossing 3.2 scoreless and hitless innings vs the Wildcats as West Chester earned a 5-4 road victory in what may well have been a preview of the Bill Giles Final in a few weeks at Citizens Bank Park. Following this outing, Messina has now thrown seven consecutive innings without allowing a run, giving up just one hit over that same stretch while striking out four over those three outings. For the year, Messina is 2-0 with a 3.07 ERA, which has steadily dropped over his last three scoreless outings.
