WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Paul Ballard scored two goals in the second half as West Chester cruised to a 3-0 victory over visiting Shippensburg in the season finale for the men's soccer team inside Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (10-7-3, 5-4-1 PSAC East) ends its season with double-digit victories as a result of the win. Shippensburg ends its year at 1-14-3 and 0-8-2 in the conference.
Zac Tassone put the hosts on top in the first half with a header off a corner kick in the 35th minute.
Ballard then netted his pair of goals six minutes apart in the final eight minutes of the game.
Garret Santora played the first 55 minutes and was not called upon to make a save. Justin Johnson played the remainder of the game, making one save for the Golden Rams.
Shippensburg's Brad Patke played the first half and made one save. Kyle King played the second half and made eight saves.
