Volleyball Prepares To Open PSAC Tournament At Home Tuesday Evening

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University's women's volleyball team begins its quest for a PSAC Tournament title on Tuesday evening inside Hollinger Field House. Game time is set for 7 p.m. against Shippensburg University.

The Golden Rams finished in second place in the Eastern Division behind undefeated league champ Lock Haven. They are the second seed in the East and will host No. 3-seeded Shippensburg, who WCU closed out the regular season with last Saturday.

Following league expansion, the women's volleyball playoffs has increased from six to eight league participants. In recent years, the top three teams from each division qualified for the playoffs and the entire tournament was played at one host site, which alternated between the East and West division winner.

This fall, a quarterfinal round has been added with the winners advancing to the PSAC semifinals, which will be held Friday and Saturday at California (Pa.), should the Vulcans win its quarterfinal match.

There are NO complimentary tickets available for PSAC postseason events. Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for children. College students from competing PSAC institutions with a valid school ID are admitted free of charge.

The other semifinal in the East pits No. 1 Lock Haven  vs. No. 4 East Stroudsburg.
