Goldey Beacom Downs West Chester Women In Tennis Opener, 8-1

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Teresa Grasso won her match at No. 4 singles, but Goldey Beacom outlasted a short-handed West Chester squad en route to an 8-1 victory over Thursday afternoon.

Grasso captured her match in straight sets by identical 6-2 scores. Bridget Dougherty dropped her match at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2 in a tightly contested match. 

The Golden Rams (0-1) had to forfeit its matches at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

West Chester will be back in action this weekend when it travels to La Salle for a non-league contest.
