Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Ralph Hegamin posted 22 points and 12 rebounds while Kenneth St. George and Kehinde Roberts each scored 16 points as West Chester dispatched visiting Millersville, 93-67, Wednesday evening in the PSAC East men’s basketball opener inside Hollinger Field House.

West Chester (10-4, 1-0 PSAC East) exacted revenge on Millersville (6-8, 0-1), who buried the Golden Rams in the regular-season finale a year ago, 67-37. Thirteen different players etched their name in West Chester’s scorebook in the win.

Kevon Davis was the fourth and final Ram to hit double figures, posting a career-high 11 points in just his second game of the season. Davis went 5 of 6 from the field and grabbed five rebounds during his breakout game.

St. George, who sat out the last five games with a concussion, went just 3-for-11 from field, but made up for it at the line with a 9 of 13 performance.

The Golden Rams opened up a large cushion in the first half with a 20-6 run over a 7:18 span that pushed the hosts’ lead to 17 with 4:44 left before the break. Hegamin fueled the run with nine points, including two 3-pointers. Roberts contributed seven points to the spurt, including a fast-break dunk, and St. George added the other four tallies.

West Chester shot 55.6 percent from the field (35-for-63) and outrebounded Millersville by a 45-29 margin. The Marauders shot 35.7 percent (20-for-56).

Makal Stibbins led Millersville with 15 points, and Reggie Bates, Lenny Henderson, Brandon Widener and Cullen Murry-Kemp all added 11. Henderson, Widener and Murry-Kemp contributed their points off the bench.

West Chester will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. against Bloomsburg in Hollinger Field House. The game can be heard live on 91.7 WCUR-FM or on the internet at www.wcur.fm or www.redzonemedia.com.
