Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
– Kehinde Roberts led three players in double figures with 21 points, but visiting Indiana (Pa.) escaped Hollinger Field House with a 60-57 non-league men’s basketball PSAC cross over victory Sunday afternoon.

Gerald Brooks led IUP (9-2) with 17 points, and Ashton Smith added 16. West Chester (7-3) saw its modest three-game winning streak come to a disappointing end.

Roberts hit on two of his three foul shots with 31 seconds left to give the hosts a 57-56 lead. However, Brooks converted a layup in the paint with 18 ticks remaining to restore the visitors’ one-point advantage.

West Chester committed a turnover in the backcourt with seven seconds left, and Darryl Webb dunked at the buzzer to put an exclamation point on IUP’s win.

Two foul shots by Roberts with 2:12 remaining gave West Chester its first lead since 50 seconds remained in the first half. The Golden Rams fell behind by as many as eight points before mounting a comeback in the final five minutes of the contest.

West Chester nearly pulled off its second surprising win against one of the Western Division’s top programs in as many days despite suffering through a 32.8 percent shooting performance from the field (19-for-58).

Hegamin added a game-high 15 rebounds to his 13 points, recording his second double-double of the weekend and sixth of the season.

West Chester returns home for a rematch with Lock Haven on Wednesday night at Hollinger Field House. The Golden Rams lost to LHU, 70-68, on Dec. 3. Tipoff Wednesday is slated for 7 p.m.
