West Chester Dribbles Past Lock Haven, 77-60

Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Ralph Hegamin scored 18 points to lead West Chester to a 77-60 non-league men's basketball victory over visiting Lock Haven Wednesday evening inside Hollinger Field House. Sam Scott and Isaiah McGhee each added 12 points for the Rams.

The Golden Rams (8-3) avenged a loss to the Bald Eagles (2-9) from earlier in the season to get back on the winning side of the score.

Scott contributed six rebounds to his 12 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the field as well. Kevin Stokes picked up seven assists while Sandy Tanner dished out four and registered four steals.

Greg Maugle posted eight points, five rebounds and two blocked shots on the night.

West Chester finally broke out of its shooting slump, hitting on 49.3 percent of their shots Wednesday. Lock Haven, which shot 41.2 percent for the game, connected on just 2 of 17 from beyond the 3-point line. That performance limited the Eagles’ opportunities to get back in the game after falling behind 36-23 at halftime.

The Golden Rams shot 58.1 percent (18-for-31) in the second half alone.

Billy Arre led Lock Haven with 13 points while Andres Carpio netted 11.

West Chester will be back in action on Saturday when the Golden Rams travel to Mercyhurst for a non-league PSAC crossover tilt at 3 p.m. in Erie, Pa.
