West Chester Men's Basketball Downs Chestnut Hill, 79-49

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Ralph Hegamin scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the West Chester University men’s basketball team downed Chestnut Hill College on the road, 79-49, in a non-league matchup at Sorgenti Arena on Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (7-0) took control from the opening tip over the Griffins of Chestnut Hill (3-4), who couldn’t overcome the Golden Rams’ 52 percent shooting from the field.

Hegamin’s 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting led all scorers. He also added four assists and two steals in 26 minutes of play.

Freshman Harley Williamson posted another stellar game, scoring 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting. Williamson also snatched six rebounds and pitched five assists while recording one block in 21 minutes.

Isaiah Twine had 11 points on 4 of 9 shooting including 2 of 3 from 3-point range.

The Golden Rams ended the first half on an 11-5 run to lead 41-22 at the break. Twine had five-points to key the run.

Mark DiRugeris led the Griffins with eight points and four rebounds. The Griffins had 19 turnovers in the game.

The Golden Rams return to the court on Tuesday on the road against Nyack University at 7 p.m.
