WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Kenneth St. George poured in a career-high 31 points as the West Chester Golden Rams clinched the program’s first playoff bid in two years with a 77-72 victory over visiting Shippensburg Wednesday night in a PSAC East men’s basketball tilt inside Hollinger Field House.
Kehinde Roberts added 20 points and five rebounds for West Chester (17-9, 8-5 PSAC East). Shippensburg (12-14, 4-9) crawled to within two in the final minute of the contest, but could not hit the equalizer down the stretch.
Neither team could build much of a lead in a tightly contested first half. However, clutch 3-point shooting from St. George eventually doomed the Raiders from Shippensburg.
Ralph Hegamin scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and recorded four assists for the Golden Rams (17-9, 8-5 PSAC East).
Daziah Miller led the way for Shippensburg with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
West Chester hosts East Stroudsburg on Saturday at Hollinger Field House at 3 p.m.
